Crock Pot Pulled Pork
Last night for dinner I made my family Pulled Pork sandwiches and just thought I’d share this super easy meal that is really hard to mess up, even if you never cook. I’m not a professional cook and I’m sure there are plenty of recipes out there for pulled pork, this is just a really easy way that I make it. It takes just minutes in the morning to make dinner for tonight.
Ingredients:
Pork (about 3 lbs), I use a boneless pork loin but you can also use pork shoulder, chicken or beef.
1 large onion, sliced
2 cloves of smashed garlic
1 cup of liquid for the crockpot. I use chicken broth or stock. I also will use ginger ale!
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce (secret ingredient, lol)
salt & pepper to taste
This makes around 6-8 servings.
In the morning:
Put the onion, garlic and whatever liquid you are using in the crock pot. I turn my crock pot on high then put the piece of pork in and cover. Whew, that was hard!
Let it cook for about 6 hours or until the meat is falling apart.
About 6 hours later…
Once the meat is done remove it from the crock pot and get rid of most of the liquid that is left.
Take 2 forks and pull (shred) the pork.
Put the pork back in the crockpot and add the BBQ sauce.
Cook for another 1/2 hour.
As you can see this recipe is very simple and you can easily make it your own. I serve mine on rolls with a side of coleslaw. Enjoy!
